Description
Role Overview
The Chief of Staff (CoS) to the executive team is a force multiplier for the senior leadership team at Qu Data Centres. This role exists to increase the executive team’s effectiveness, ensure strategic priorities are executed with discipline, and keep the organization aligned as Qu scales its platform, operations, and stakeholder complexity.
This is not an administrative role. The Chief of Staff operates as a trusted advisor, execution lead, and integrator across strategy, operations, governance, and cross‑functional initiatives — particularly where decisions are ambiguous, time‑sensitive, or highly consequential.
The ideal candidate is analytically strong, commercially grounded, politically astute, and comfortable operating at board, investor, and senior‑management level.
Core Responsibilities
1. CEO Enablement & Strategic Leverage
- Act as a thought partner to the CEO and executive team on strategy, priorities, and decision framing
- Translate CEO direction into clear actions, owners, and timelines
- Filter, structure, and elevate issues requiring CEO attention
- Prepare high‑quality briefing materials, talking points, and decision memos
- Leverage of AI systems
2. Strategic Execution & Cross‑Functional Delivery
- Drive execution of company‑wide strategic initiatives (e.g., expansion programs, major partnerships, sovereign compute, M&A integration, platform scale‑up)
- Coordinate across Operations, Sales, Finance, Legal, and Technology to unblock progress
- Ensure clarity of ownership, milestones, and outcomes across priority initiatives
- Track progress against commitments and escalate risks early
3. Board, Investor & Stakeholder Interface
- Support preparation of board materials, CEO updates, and strategic narratives
- Coordinate follow‑ups from board and investor meetings
- Ensure alignment between management action plans and board expectations
- Assist with external stakeholder positioning where required (partners, regulators, key customers)
4. Operating Rhythm & Decision Quality
- Help establish and maintain the operating cadence for the executive team
- Improve decision‑making discipline (clear options, trade‑offs, and accountability)
- Drive follow‑through on commitments made at executive and board level
- Identify and resolve gaps between strategy and day‑to‑day execution
5. Government Relations (for select candidates)
- Provincial and federal relationships
- Policy shaping
- KPIs
6. Ad Hoc Problem Solving & Special Projects
- Lead special projects on behalf of the CEO where speed, discretion, or cross‑functional authority is required
- Rapidly come up the learning curve on unfamiliar topics (regulatory, technical, commercial)
- Step in where the organization lacks temporary capacity or needs neutral leadership
What This Role Is Not
- Not an executive assistant or scheduling role
- Not a pure PMO position
- Not a political shield or communications proxy
- Not an HR or internal comms role (though the CoS may influence all of these)

- Strategy / corporate development

- Chief of Staff or equivalent senior operating role

Skills & Attributes
- Exceptional written and verbal communication (board‑ready thinking)
